Four Years in the Flint Hills!

We are fast approaching our four year anniversary. Here are some key statistics as we look at what we’ve been able to accomplish:

  • 27,081 visits to our website

  • 1,635 rentals

  • 96,356 pageviews

We are so pleased that we’ve been able to serve a niche in the Flint Hills area over these years.

This isn’t a business that will allow Cheryl or I to quit our normal day jobs (I teach at K-State and she is the choir accompanist at MHS) and retire, but it has given our children an opportunity to learn how to work (they are paid to clean the bounce houses each week) and how to provide good customer service. We’ve re-invested a majority of our profits each summer to purchase more bounce houses and water slides and have been able to grow the business by 40% each summer so far.

This also means that during the entire busy season (summer) the last two years, we are running the business from our house each weekend… which also means no summer vacations/etc.

During 2021, Cheryl and I made the conscious decision to “pay” ourselves for the first time since we started the business and used a small portion of our profits to help pay for a family vacation to Florida in the winter. It was awesome!

As we look to 2022, we have some important extended family trips that will happen during the summer (California, Utah, Idaho) which will mean we need to find additional help to run the business for a portion of the summer. To help fund this new role, we will be raising our prices across all of our products.

This is the first time we’ve raised our prices, and we’ve taken pride in the fact that our rentals are by far the most affordable in the Flint Hills area. We’ve also decided to add some tiered-pricing for the holidays as we usually experience tremendous demand around Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day. As much as we wish we had twice as many rentals during those weekend (there certainly is demand for it!) there isn’t quite as much demand the rest of the summer.

We understand we might lose some customers as a result of these decision, but we want our customers to know we feel this increase is necessary to ensure we can continue to provide our rentals with the same great customer experience for 2022 and beyond!

Thank you!
